Tin Tin is full of playful banter. The whole comic is just really entertaining for the most part. I read the one comic where Tin Tin has an adventure on the moon. I love the way it starts off when they have no idea where they are and are not expected to leave earth for a few hours and yet it opens when they are already in space. The way Herge introduces the characters is funny and witty. Especially when the twins show up out of nowhere and are not even supposed to be on the rocket to space, they were just simply taking a nap.
I enjoy the style that Herge uses when creating these Tin Tin comics. It is graphic and yet detailed enough to hold my attention. Even the way he uses the speech bubbles is very nice and flows easily enough for me to understand. Although the only real problem I had with it was when I got to the middle of the comic and it just started to get a little too out of hand and ridiculous. I even felt as though the jokes got a little redundant and the characters just started to get annoying. Tin Tins personality was the one I enjoyed the most because he was just a little out there but still had a head on his shoulders and got things done when need be. The character I least liked was the captain. At first he seemed interesting enough but once you found out he was a drunk it just got a little drab and boring for my taste. Almost as if the same jokes were just simply repeated over and over again and the whole crew didn't actually get anywhere and it just dragged on. Although I found it funny when the twins started growing hair and it turned green, I found myself chuckling to myself.
Though I think Herge is a great comic artist and the style he uses is great, I just could not get through the whole comic. I just felt like I was getting distracted with other things and stopped really paying attention to the words and conversation that was going on and focused more on the illustrations and the movement from panel to panel.
